After Dark Horror Fest started in 2006 featuring horror movies that were deemed unfit for getting released in movie theatres. In 2011, it was replaced by After Dark Originals which is an independent firm involved in producing and distributing movies. The annual festival is much anticipated by horror movie buffs and those who cannot attend the festival in person can purchase the features movie later.

The Hamiltons

The movie depicts the horrors of newly created vampires. After the death of their parents in an accident, David, the surviving eldest brother relocated his family which has three teenage brothers, Wendell, Darlene, and Francis.

Francis discovers a video camera and tries to unlock the secret of his elder brothers. His brother kidnaps and kills girls for their blood. Francis is successful in escaping with one of the girls but kills her after he sees blood oozing from her wound. It is revealed that all the brothers are vampires and the youngest one, Lenny, is locked away in the storeroom. The ending scene depicts that the family has again relocated to another sub-urban area under an alias Thompsons.

From Within

From within revolves around the unlocking of a curse started by a black book. Sean, a teenage boy reads from a black book and commits suicide. His girlfriend is followed by the curse and found dead. The curse catches up with whoever sees the body of the victim first. As the movie progresses, it is revealed that the curse creates a doppelganger of the victim who compels them to commit suicide.

Adrian, whose witch mother started the curse and Lindsay try to end the curse by Adrian committing suicide. They become unsuccessful and the climax reveals that Adrian was shot before he could shoot himself in his head. Therefore, the sacrifice did not count. Lindsay tries to burn the book to end the curse but the ghost ends the fire with a gush of wind and she is killed by her lookalike.

Dread

The movie devices its story from the eponymous short story by Clive Baker. Two students, Quaid and Stephen are working on a project where they record people talking about their fears and how they cope with them.

Quaid, a psychopath, learning about people's fear tries to do a cruel experiment on them. He locks Cheryl with meat which reminded her of his incestuous father. He permanently damages the eardrums of Joshua who fears losing his hearing ability. He secretly records and displays a naked girl who has birthmarks all over her body and fears being shunned because of them. Stephens tries to stop him but he is stabbed by a mistaken Joshua. Later, Quaid manages to kill Joshua and throws his dead body over to a hungry Cheryl who feeds off his body to stay alive.
