The Real Stories Behind Classic Horror Movies

When one watches horror movies, we just assume that it is just a piece of creative imagination. But what do you tell yourself after watching a horror movie that is based on a true story? The logical faculty of the mind starts questioning everything you see and believe and at last to quell the churning in your stomach, you just say that it is just a movie, after all, everything is exaggerated in them. This movie has been included in the list of cult classic horror movies. The plot on based on paranormal events unravelling in the Perron family who have shifted to their new house. As depicted, the house was cursed by a witch who used to possess the mothers living in the house and made them kill their own children.

The movie unfolds the exploits of American paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. After the Perron family contacted them, the demonologist couple investigated and found the presence of a demonic presence in the house and exorcised it from the matriarch of the perron family.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

The movie depicts the paranormal events in the life of Anneliese Michel, a citizen of Germany. She appeared to have been suffering from what could be known as schizophrenia. She was being treated medically but medical treatment was ineffective. Later, her family became sure that her behaviour was an outcome of demonic possession. A priest from their local parish performed 67 catholic exorcisms on her during which she was not given any food or water. She died of malnutrition. The movie depicts these events from a paranormal angle. Father Arnold Renz and her father were charged with negligent homicide.

The Exorcist

The movie is one of the scariest horror films of all time. The sets of the movie were also believed to have been afflicted with a curse due to paranormal activities. However, the movie is based on Roland Doe, an alias given by the catholic church to a boy who was believed to be under the influence of an evil spirit in the 1940s.

Several unexplained things were going in his house. Roland and his family members would receive physical injuries without any reason. After 30 exorcisms, Roland was believed to be cured.

The Hills Have Eyes

The movie is based on Sawney Bean family. They used to live in a seas side cave and eat the flesh of people who passed by their dwelling place. It is believed that they murdered and ate 1000 humans in a span of 25 years. The legend is based on Sawney Bean of Scotland around 1700.

Wolf Creek

The movie surrounds the misgivings of two serial killers in Australia. Milat and Murdock used to prey on travellers and kill them on the trail.
